7 Days from Casablanca to the Imperial Cities & Desert
Overview:
7 Days from Casablanca to the Imperial Cities and Desert, This itinerary will take you from Casablanca to the city of Marrakech, with stops along the way at the blue town of Chefchaouen, the imperial towns of Fez and Meknes, the middle and high Atlas Mountains, and finally the desert of Merzouga (Erg Chebbi).
Tour Plan :
Day 1 We will meet you at the airport in Casablanca and then travel to Fez.
At the Casablanca Airport, we will meet you and give you a warm welcome before transferring you straight to Fez, where you will spend the night.
Day 2 Fez Sightseeing
Following breakfast at your riad, we will start our day in Fez by seeing the city and going to the Mellah, which is the oldest medina in all of Morocco and was constructed in the 15th century. In addition to other sites, we will visit the entrance of the Royal Palace, the Jewish Quarter, the Nejjarine Museum of Wooden Arts and Crafts, the Kairaouine Mosque and University, and other locations.
Following a day of sight-seeing in Fez, we will check into a hotel there for the night after taking a stroll around the city’s souks.
Day 3 Fez – Merzouga.
Camel journey in Erg Chebbi sand dunes & night in a tent in center dunes.
After having breakfast, we will go out of Fez in the direction of the desert. Along the way, we will travel via the city of Ifran, which is often referred to as the “Switzerland of Morocco” by locals.
After that, we are going to head to the Azrou forest, which is well-known for its fragrant cedar trees and is home to wild Barbary macaque monkeys that are referred to as “Magots.” We are going to pause here for a few minutes in order to capture some photographs of the wild monkeys. After that, we will begin our journey to the city of Midelt, which will take us through the breathtaking landscape of the Middle Atlas Mountains.
After leaving Midelt, we will go via the Tizi Ntlghamt trail and the Ziz Gorge, and then we will pass through Tizi Ntlghamt, where you will see how the terrain and the surrounding environment alter the closer you approach to Errachidia City. You will come over dry ground and enter a world filled with oasis and veldts.
After that, you will drive through the Ziz Valley, and along the way, you will make a few pit stops to soak in the breathtaking vistas and snap some photos. After that, we will go via the rather tiny towns of Erfoud and Rissani. After Erfoud and Rissani, we will travel directly to Merzouga, which is approximately 30 kilometers from Rissani. Upon arrival in the evening, we will have tea before going on a camel trek with an experienced camel man.
We will spend the night in Berber tents in the middle of the sand dunes and enjoy dinner there under the moon and stars.
Day 4 Merzouga – Toudgha Gorges – Boumalane Dades – Dades Gorge.
Following your viewing of the dawn, the camel driver will take you back to your hotel, where you may freshen up with a shower and have breakfast. After that, we will go back to Rissani, where we will take you to an ancient market where you can purchase one-of-a-kind handicrafts, garments, and dates.
After that, we will go to the Gorge of Morocco that is the tallest and narrowest (GORGE TODGHA). Following our exploration of Gorge Todgha, we will go to Boumalane Dades to learn about the Valley of Dades and to see the incredible and spectacular rock formation known as the “Monkeys Toes.” Gorge Dades will be your home for the night.
Day 5 Dades Gorge – Kalaat Magouna – Skoura – Ouarzazate-Ait ben Haddou Kasbah – Marrakesh.
We will leave our accommodation in Gorge Dades in the morning for the trip to Ouarzazate after breakfast. And go through the Skoura oasis, which is known for its traditional Kasbahs. Then there is Ouarzazate, which is often referred to as the “Hollywood of Desert” and of Morocco in general. Within the Souss-Massa-Draa region of southern-central Morocco lies the province of Ouarzazate.
When you go touring in Ouarzazate, you will come across a Taourirt Kasbah. This Kasbah was once owned by Caid Thami El Glaoui, and it is now home to the Atlas Studios, where a great number of films have been shot. Following our visit to Ouarzazate, we will continue our journey by car to the fortified settlement of Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
After reaching Ait Ben Haddou, we will continue on to Marakesh by way of the High Atlas Mountains’ Tizi Ntichka Pass, which has a series of hairpin curves. We will approach the city of Marrakesh in the evening after we have traversed the Tizi Ntichka bends.
Day 6 will be spent sight-seeing in Marrakesh.
The whole of the day is devoted to seeing the captivating and lovely city of Marrakesh, which is characterized by its fusion of Berber customs, Arab renaissance, and Western influences. We will visit the Tombs of the Saadien Kings, the Dar Si Said Museum, which is located in a palace dating back to the 19th century, the Agdal and Menara Gardens, and the Koutoubia Mosque, which dates back to the 12th century and is located on a hill overlooking the city. You should also check out the Bahia and Bedii Palaces in addition to the tanners’ and dyers’ quarters.
Before going to supper and spending the night at our hotel, we will finish our tour with a stop to Jamaa El Fna Square, which is home to spice dealers, storytellers, snake charmers, fire-eaters, acrobats, musicians, and a wide variety of other performers.
Day 7 Airport transfer and departure.
We will provide transportation to the airport after your breakfast at the hotel or riad, where you will then check in for your journey back home.
