Overview:
One of the most requested tourist excursions in Morocco is a 4 days from Fes to Marrakech that includes travel over the Sahara desert. This ideal route between the two imperial capitals will take you through a variety of landscapes and points of interest, including the High Atlas Mountains, Ait Benhaddou Kasbah, and a number of other fortified towns and villages.
Do things like camel trekking, hiking, sandboarding, and spending the night in a desert tent beneath the stars.
Tour Plan :
DAY 1 Fes – Imozar – Ifran – Azrou – Ziz Valley – Erfoud – Rissani – Merzouga
The trip to Merzouga starts in Ifrane, which is also known as the Moroccan Switzerland. From there, we go to the forest of Azrou, where we can watch monkeys climb the cedars. Next, we go through the mountains of the Middle Atlas, and then we go through Errachidia, which is known as the Provençal of the desert. We stop to see the Ziz valley, which has palm trees shaped like a river.
We get to Merzouga, which is near the Erg Chebbi dunes. What we don’t need to do is leave the hotel, where the camels are waiting for us, and go into the desert as the sun goes down. We spend the night in a tent at a camp of tents in the sand dunes. Dinner and night in a tent under the desert stars.
DAY 2: Family Night at Erg Chabbi with Nomada
We eat a good breakfast in the morning because it will take us about two hours to get to our new location. We stop for lunch for an hour and a half under the shade of a typical desert tree called a Tamariz. After lunch, we’ll keep walking until we reach the home of a nomad family, where we’ll spend the night and talk to them.
DAY 3 Merzourga – Rissani – Erfoud – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley
Seeing the sun rise over the desert is something that no one should miss, so this is an early morning. After thinking for a while, we’ll ride camels to the hotel, where we’ll take a shower and eat breakfast.
Then we’ll head to Rissani, which is where the Alawite dynasty began and was the first imperial city in Morocco. We take the road to Erfoud, which is made of black stone and has a lot of marine fossils (if you want, we can stop at a fossil factory), and get to Palm Grove Tafilalet. We went to the Gorges of Todra and got to the Dades Valley. We had dinner and stayed in a hotel for the night.
DAY 4: Dades Valley, Valley of the Roses, Skoura, Ouarzazate, and Marrakech
As you leave the Dades Valley and follow the “Thousand Kasbahs” route, you’ll pass the beautiful Valley Rosas and the palm grove of Skoura, where the most famous kasbah in the area, the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, is located. From there, you can go to Ouarzazate. From here, we start heading back to Marrakech. When we get back to your hotel, the tour is over.
