Overview:
Book the 3 days from Marrakech to Fes via the desert to get an in-depth look at the Sahara desert of Erg Chebbi, as well as the High and Middle Atlas Mountains, canyons, and valleys, and a camel trek, all while enjoying a pleasant journey through the desert and spending the night in the middle of it. The desert journey connects Marrakech to the Imperial City of Fes. Fes was the imperial capital of Morocco.
Tour Plan :
Day 1: Marrakech – Ait Ben haddou – Dades Gorge
We will pick you up from your hotel or riad in Marrakech, and then drive you to Ouarzazate via the breathtaking Tizi n’ Tichka pass, the highest major mountain pass in Africa (2260m), over the High Atlas Mountains. Along the way, you will have the opportunity to take in the breathtaking scenery as you pass through Berber villages.
Arriving at the famous Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, the largest one in Morocco and a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987, where we will have lunch before continuing on to Dades Gorge via Ouarzazate, known as “the Hollywood of Africa,” and along the (Road of the thousand Kasbahs), passing through Kalaat Mgouna, also known as “the rose’s city,” known for the production of rose water roses and its annual festival (May), before arriving at Spend the night at the hotel or riad.
Day 2: Dades Gorge – Todra Gorge – Merzouga
After a hearty meal in the morning, we’ll get in the car and travel through the valley to check out the incredible rock formations, and then we’ll stop for a rest at one of the most scenic areas of the canyon. As we make our way from the Dades valley to Tinghir and the Todra valley, we will have the opportunity to take in breathtaking vistas of ancient Berber towns made of mud, complete with palm trees that gaze out over the valley.
When you get to the Todgha Gorge, you will have to go beneath a steep red cliff that is elevated up to (300m) at the place where it is at its narrowest. After continuing on to Erfoud and Rissani, where we will have lunch on route, we will then continue on to the Sahara Desert town of Merzouga, where, upon arrival, you will be greeted with a steaming cup of mint tea and then you will be prepared for your camel trekking.
After we have finished our traditional meal under the night sky, we will put up our Berber tents for the night so that we may spend the night in the desert.
Day 3: Merzouga – Fes
After returning to our desert hotel for breakfast, we will travel to Fes via Errachidia along the magnificent Ziz palm groves and other Berber villages passing by the Tizi Ntalghamt pass to Midelt where we will have lunch before continuing on to Azrou, a Berber village in the Middle Atlas Mountains. This will be the best sunrise of your life, and it will cast different shadows and colors over the sea of sand dunes, which are the highest in Morocco.
After returning to our desert hotel, After seeing the famed Cedar forest, we will go to Ifrane, often known as the Switzerland of Morocco, where we will take a break for a photograph or a cup of coffee before continuing on to Fes, the last destination of the trip.
